Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. was initiately chartered on Alcorn State University's Campus in 1946 as the Beta Beta Chapter. Unforunately the sorority was inactive on ASU's Campus for serveral years. On April 21, 1972, Soror Dungee was instrumental in re-chartering the Alcorn Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho, which is now known as the Epsilon Tau Chapter. The undergraduate sorors are striving to uphold the sorority's slogan: "Greater Service, Greater Progress".
